Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I got this snare drum over the internet at Musiciansfriend.com. I needed a new snare drum because mine CB snare was just terrible! I got this snare for $100.

Personally, I like the thinner snares, so this was on the top of my list. Also it has a great nice warm higher tone to it. It's really great if you're playing pop, and jazz music. Pearl really makes some good stuff!

Once I got this home, it sounded just GREAT for the first couple of months, then it started to wear down. Probably if you put new heads on it; it should be fine. One other thing is that it doesn't supply you with a wide tone when you tune it.

I LOVE the shell on this drum; it has some special coating on it, so it just feels and looks great! The rims are really sturdy. After about a year and a half, I still can't find anything wrong with them. Nevertheless, the inside part of the snare is starting to chip off a little bit, but barely noticable.

I was really glad to get this drum. It has really made a BIG difference to the sound on the rest of the kit.
